Fenway Farms

One of the highly prized predicates for a Friesian mare is to become Preferent. To achieve this predicate, the mare must produce at least four foals that receive ster status. At this year’s keuring, our “Momma”Lotje (Olof x Oege Pref) became preferent!

Lotje’s first foal Aukje E. (Fetse) was born in 2000 and is still in the Netherlands. Her third foal Lobke E. aka Jewel (Ulke) was imported by Sue Neipert in southern WI and this past dressage season earned her Sport Predicate. Our mare Vienna van Kelnhofer (Nanning) was Lotje’s third ster and her full sister, Bartja not only made ster at this year’s keuring, was also Champion Mare of the day! Bartja is co-owned by Ron Herman and Fenway Farms and was an embryo transfer.

I would be remiss if I did not remind all of our gelding Rykaard van Kelnhofer (Andries). He was Lotje’s fourth foal and had the necessary points to become ster, but was not eligible as his white star was too large. We need to at least give him an honorable mention.

Congratulations Lotje . . .1st Premie Ster Preferent!
